It’s Been A While
It’s been a while. I just noticed that I haven’t posted anything here in a couple of years. It’s not that I am dead. Far from it, actually.
I have been busy moving to Kansas (January 2009), travelling the world in my job (2008 – 2011), raising my 8 children (today ages 18 – 2), being active in my church, getting laid off from my job, working to start my own businesses, and generally living life.
Looking back at some of my old posts, it is interesting how things have changed.
The Genius found a new home after we moved to Kansas. We tried to keep him happy, but he was too big for the little kids and all around needed someone else in his life. So, the local town police chief took him into his family. Last I heard, the Genius was busy chasing stray cats and sleeping on the sofa. What more could a 125lb Labrador Retriever ask for?
Granny has been gone 15 years this week. I still remember like yesterday being at the nursing home the night she passed away. Her husband, Ed, passed away earlier this year. That’s the hard part about getting old for me, seeing everyone else get old.
I still think about the Gold Chair frequently. We have since replaced the Grandma Murphy Chair and Couch as well. Spent good money on a reclining sofa and hide-a-bed sofa, which the children work daily to destroy.
Water is still great, until it’s not. It has been very dry the past year or more here in Kansas. Many ponds have dried up and the only relief seems to be temporary and not enough. If you live along the Mississippi River, however, water isn’t so great right now. It’s all relative.
So, as far as 2011 goes, life could not be better. Certainly, I wouldn’t mind making more money, be better looking and having more hair. That aside, all is well on Planet T.
